The Lee County Port Authority Police Department provides law enforcement at the Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field in Fort Myers, Florida. The purpose of the department is to safeguard the traveling public and provide immediate support to the Department of Homeland Security. To join the Department, you must meet the following requirements:
Must be at least 19 years old
High School Diploma/GED
A citizen of the United States
Must be able to successfully pass a physical exam
Must be able to succesfully pass a psychological assessment
Must possess a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity and teamwork
Must successfully pass a written exam, oral exam and drug screening
Must pass a background investigation
Must be fingerprinted by agency
Must not have been convicted of any felony
Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanor, involving perjury or false statements
Must not have recieved a dishonorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States
Must have a valid Florida driver's license upon employment
Must be of good moral character

This division consists of Uniformed Patrol, Field Force unit and Hazardous Device Squad. Some of the daily responsibilities include enforcing TSA regulations, state laws, traffic enforcement, community policing, dignitary protection and crowd control.
This division consists of Explosive Detection Canines, Crime Analysis, Traffic Control Specialists and Criminal Investigations. Some of the daily responsibilities include analyzing trends in airport crimes, conducting supplemental investigations, and pedestrian curb enforcement.
This division consists of Part-Time Officers, Records Section, Asset Management, Technology Management, and the Training Unit. The division is also responsible for initial budget planning, security liaison with other departments, implementation of the TSA Security Plan, and hiring.
